The Sarap Shop - Filipino Comfort Food Cafe & Catering Information

When you step into The Sarap Shop - Filipino Comfort Food Cafe & Catering on Stillman Street in San Francisco, you're not just entering a restaurant; you're walking into a vibrant slice of Filipino culture. The moment you cross the threshold, the tantalizing aromas of home-cooked Filipino favorites greet you, making it clear that this place isn't about fancy pretensions-it’s about soul-satisfying food that feels like a warm embrace.

The menu at The Sarap Shop is a celebration of Filipino comfort food, and it has something for everyone. You’ll find classic dishes like adobo, a savory, tender stew of chicken or pork simmered in soy sauce and vinegar, creating a perfect balance of salty and tangy flavors. The rich, comforting taste of this dish is enough to make you feel like you’re eating at your grandmother's table, even if you're miles away from home. Another standout is the sinigang, a sour tamarind soup that's bursting with fresh vegetables and tender meat, offering a perfect balance of tart and savory. It’s the kind of dish that instantly warms you from the inside out, especially on a chilly San Francisco day.

But The Sarap Shop doesn’t stop at the classics; they put a modern twist on Filipino comfort food that makes each dish feel fresh and exciting. Take the sisig, for example, a sizzling, mouth-watering plate of crispy pork, seasoned with a blend of spices and topped with a raw egg, waiting for you to mix it all together. Every bite is an explosion of flavors, from the crunch of the pork to the smoky, tangy undertones that make it impossible to put down.

The cafe’s atmosphere adds to the overall experience, creating a casual yet inviting vibe. It’s the kind of place where you can easily strike up a conversation with the friendly staff or sit back and enjoy the buzz of the place. The decor is simple, but there's a definite focus on creating a welcoming space for everyone-whether you're grabbing a quick bite or enjoying a meal with friends.

Service is another highlight. The staff is not only knowledgeable about the menu but genuinely passionate about sharing the joys of Filipino cuisine with others. It’s clear that they take pride in the food they serve, and their enthusiasm is infectious. From the moment you arrive until you take the last bite of your meal, you’ll feel well taken care of.

Whether you're a Filipino food aficionado or a first-timer, The Sarap Shop - Filipino Comfort Food Cafe & Catering offers an experience that's both delicious and memorable. The flavors are bold, the portions are generous, and the warmth of the service makes you feel like part of the family. What People's Say About Place

Genuine “Filipino” food that’s no where near “run of the mill “. Delicious Adobro really tender slow cooked pork that falls apart lightly covered in a special sweet sour sauce over rice with a fresh pickled veggy salad GF and vegan options not just after thoughts but real options. I’m coming back with friends

Sarap Shop catered a kamayan for our wedding dinner and it was EVERYTHING!!! <3 So many people told us that it was the tastiest and most unique wedding meal they'd ever had. It was DELICIOUS, fresh, beautiful, fun, engaging. The Sarap team is so professional, talented, flexible and cool. They proactively addressed any logistical concerns we had (dietary restrictions, keeping food hot, timing, aesthetics and more.) I would 1000% recommend Sarap Shop catering. From casual food truck to elevated wedding catering - they can truly do it all!!! Their whole team was a delight to work with and felt like family. Thank you for being the highlight of our best night <3

We were very excited to see a brand new Filipino comfort food spot spring up in Soma! It’s tucked away on Stillman St, but once you’re near you won’t miss the murals. Food was all tasty; our favorite was the sisig (get the sous vide egg on top). The fattiness of the porkbelly contrasting with the brightness of the citrusy sauce was a delight. Loved the vibes of the place with the colorful/whimsical art, and the staff were very friendly. The place felt a little quiet with the staff working on the food behind the closed window, and we were the only ones dining in at the time. Not much seating for dine-in, but great for lunch takeaway. We’re betting that as more people find out about this place, it’ll become a popular neighborhood lunchtime spot in no time!

I was greeted by the owner, who shook my hand, and it really made me feel welcomed! There's a wonderful vegetarian/vegan selection and a solid variety of food on the menu! Everything I had was really good and I'm really looking forward to go again to try more!

I was walking on my lunch to Whole Paycheck ( side eye -_- ) and I saw the signage for The Sarap Shop and decided to take a chance. It's a cool hidden gem on the side of the road on Stillman alley. The murals are really dope and there is a nice atmosphere/energy about this spot. I ordered the pork lumpia ( which is BOGO! ) and the pork carbonara. It was all SO GOOD! Especially the carbonara, wow. I will be back again!

Truly the BEST Filipino food I've had. I ordered the Lemon Sisig. Great flavor, not too salty. I'm quite full. Kristen was super friendly and welcoming. Thank you!!!

Hidden gem on Stillman Alley. Right next to the freeway on ramp. Not many places to sit, so order take away and enjoy some of the beautiful urban gardens nearby. They have delicious Filipino fusion food. And they have gluten and plant based options! Loved every bite of Sarap Shop! The name of this takeaway place is spot on!

Food was amazingggg !! Got the lechon sisig carbonara and rice bowl (added an egg on both) and they were 10/10!! Cozy spot with limited seating and cute artwork on the walls . Didn't see a bathroom while we were there but Whole Foods has a public bathroom and is within walking distance lol.
